The Busby Babes

"The Busby Babes" - You may think the term is related to some hot chicks or some skinny super models. But its actually the term referred to the Manchester United Football Club team managed by Matt Busby in the mid 1950's.The team Matt Busby had built from the club's successful youth policy seemed destined to dominate football for many years. Such was the power of the Babes that they seemed invincible. The average age of the side which won the Championship in 1955-56 was just 22, the youngest ever to achieve such a feat. A year when they were Champions again, nothing, it seemed, would prevent the young braves of Manchester United from reigning for the next decade.

But then came the Munich air disaster (Feb 6th, 1958) which changed the destiny of the Busby Babes. The aircraft carrying the United team back from victorious visit to Yugoslavia against Red Star Belgrade crashed in the snow of Munich airport and the babes were no more.Seven of the United players died in the tragedy along with the other supportes and reporters. So this week they mourned for the 50th anniversary of this event. It was quiet evident this week during the EPL previews where in they covered the whole story towards the build-up to the manchester derby this sunday.

This seasons Manchester Derby at Old Trafford remains to be an unforgettable and legendary match for this very specific reason as they paid tribute to the babes who were invincible 50 years ago.The match will also be remembered for the fact that the Manchester United team wore the same style jerseys and numbers as worn by the busby babes in the 1957 - 58 season. Also the sponsors name was not printed in the jerseys of both United and City teams. The build up to the match was filled with running emotions from the previous stars of United team and they were destined and confident to win this match comfortably so as to mark the 50th anniversary with a winning note.

The match started with a 60 seconds silence in remembrance of the lost souls of the United team in 1958.Though im a big fan of Gunners and hate to see Manchester United winning the trophies, I wanted the United team to win this match comfortably for the very fact that they are not just a football team but they have 50 years of legend behind them. But sadly United lost to their neighbours 2-1 in one of the memorable matches in United's football history and they slipped further in the title challenge. Now Arsenal really have an upper hand and they could take this opportunity and increase the lead in the league standings.

Being a football fanatic I really felt sorry for the lost souls of this disaster and I wondered how good the Busby Babes were at their times.Though I will never become a fan of United's team, I started admiring their courage and character to build up a world class club even after such a disaster. From now on I will remain a silent admirer of the legendary United's team.

Vijay TV's - Reel Paadhi, Real Paadhi

"Reel Paadhi, Real Paadhi" is a primetime programme telecasted in Vijay TV every wednesday 9:30 PM.Usually Vijay TV copies all programmes from STAR Plus since its a part of the STAR network. But this programme is unique in its own way and filled with creativity and humour.I have not seen such a creative programme in any other TV channels. Its nothing but an ordinary movie review programme but its differs from others in the way its presented. You will get an honest and straight forward reviews without any diplomatic comments. If the movie is good they ll really appreciate it or else they say its nothing but a load of crap in a humour filled episode.

The proramme is presented in an unique way where in the anchor is depicted in three different forms.Vandu - The real guy, Chendu - Depicted as an Angel and Nandu - Depicted as the Devil. With Vandu commenting on the general and common facts about the movie, Chendu praising the good facts about the movie and Nandu criticising the negative facts of the movie. All these with fun filled episode and you will be in for a wild ride of humorous comments.

I have always liked this programme and appreciated the creativity behind it.But never thought of writing it in my blog until yesterday.I watched this programme yesterday and they were reviewing the movie "PAZHANI" starring Bharath (God only should save him after this crap movie) directed by Perarasu (Worst director in the entire film industry, his films are nothing but load of masala, punch dialogues and kuthu songs). The review was so interesting and filled with funny comments we were laughing throughout the entire episode. It was just a slap in the face for the director that they literally said "its better to commit suicide rather than watching this movie" :-).

The best part of the review came when Chendu asks Nandu

Chendu : "Why the director is pointing his fore finger to his head in all movie posters?"
Nandu : "The director (Perarusu) not only wants punch dialogues in his movies rather he wants the same in all movie posters too.It means that only the people with brain should watch this movie and if at all after watching the movie if you have a pistol, point at the place shown in the poster and shoot urself" hehehehehehehe ...... :-) :-) :-).
I was eating a bubble gum at this point of time and the way I laughed I actually swallowed it ;-).The episode yesterday was too good and I couldnt control my laugh for a very long time. Now I ve decided not to miss any of the episodes and I will be a regular to this programme.

If you really like humour and wanna have a laughter blast, dont miss this show.

Avril Lavigne - The Punk Princess

Avril Lavigne changed the face of polished glamour mainstream pop with her skatepunk image. She's well known for her likings to tanktop's and necktie's which differentiated her from any other skin-bearin antics of other teen pop stars. She stood unique by not following the style or path of anyother pop stars which made her special and I started liking her for this particular reason.

I first heard her single "Complicated" in the year of 2003 and from then I have been a big fan of her.I collected all her songs and now I have the entire collection of Avril and it will be in my playlists for ever. Its not only her music but her lyrics carries a lot of emotions and true feelings.

The songs which I like the most includes "Complicated", "Sk8er Boi", "Im with you", "Hot", "My Happy Ending", "When your gone" ... etc etc.I wish I could meet her once and I ll be definitely in the first row if she tours India sometime in future.
