Gunners fired down Milan

Just check the preview trailer before reading this. How much hipe and tension involved in this game.

AC Milan

  • Seven time UEFA Champions League winners
  • Four time finalists
  • The defending Champions of UEFA Champions league
  • Never lost at home in all European matches in the recent past
  • Never lost in the second round of this competition
  • Their home ground San Siro is their Castle and no English club have ever beaten them here.

All these stats and facts were done and dusted by Gunners in their own home ground in what turned out to be the best performance Arsenal ever produced in the European cup.As everyone knows Arsenal plays the most stylish football in Europe and on a given day they can outclass any team in the world.Full credit goes to Arsene Wenger who built a new young team and have tremendous confident in them.I could somehow relate this Arsenal's win to the India's series win against mighty Aussies in the CB series. In both occasions the really young team managed to thrash the mighty giants in their own battle field. Its good to see youngstars coming so good these days and the visibility and platform they get to improve themselves.

Arsenal came to this match with lot of pressure being lost in the FA cup and the carling cup.But the young gunners held on to their nerves and got a famous win beating the defending champions.Fabregas proved that he is one of the best midfielders in the world currently with a stunning goal in the 84th minute.Though he was bit sloppy in the first 10 mins he came good after that and masterminded each and every Arsenal attack.Adebayor scored the second goal in the stoppish time and he really deserved the goal coz he mesmerised the Milan defense all through the game.Senderos was a real surprise in this match and he played one of the best games of the season, he proved all his critics wrong with a superb defensive display. All the players stood up to the occasion when needed and fired the whole Milan team down.

I really enjoyed each and every moment of the game, even though the coverage in TenSports sucks to the core.I wish they carry on this win throughout the league and win the most coveted cup this time around.

Cricket India Shines brightly than ever

March 2nd 2008 - One of the most memorable day in the history of Indian cricket for two good reasons.Indian boys winning the Under-19 ICC Cricket world cup once again and the "Men in Blue" thrashing the mighty Aussies in their home turf.

Lets focus on the Indian youngstars emphatic win in the final. They deserved the title more than anyone in the tournament, they continued the unbeaten run in the tournament with a great victory in the finals.Though their batting let down for the first time in the tournament with a very modest total of just 159, their bowlers backed them very well with a scintillating first spell.SA was down to 3 only with 17 runs on the board. Then the rain God played its part once again in the tournament and the target was revised to 116 from 25 overs using the D/L method.I bet you no one in the world knows how to calculate it, they all depend on the stupid box for the revised targets. So once the target was set SA continued their steady run chase, but the Indian bowlers were too good on the day they scalped most of the SA wickets. It was a thrilling end to the match with SA needing 19 runs to win in the last over, but Indian boys held on to the pressure and managed to get 2 wickets in the last over.

They were the most consistent team in the entire tournament and they deserved the win thoroughly. We can look forward to more of Yuvrajs, Pathans and Kaifs in the near future. The future of Indian cricket is really shining bright and I really hope they make the best use of it.

Coming to the emphatic win of Men in Blue in SCG, its good to see Aussies getting thrashed in their own home turf. Many statistics were changed after the match with India's first win against Aussies in SCG and Sachin's first ever 100 in Australia. What an innings from the little master, its one of the best knocks I've ever seen from.Rohit Sharma produced another well crafted innings and supported Sachin right through the innings only to loose the wicket almost at the end of the match. Its a well deserved win for India and they should maintain the momentum in the second final also.I really wish to see Indians thrash the Aussies again and win the CB series.
